This came in at 1130, 31st May 2010. Prior to that, I was craning my neck and ears for the chime of the doorbell.
Ever since I found out about the impending arrival of the HTC Desire in March, I have been holding out for it. My 2-year phone contract expired late May 2010 so I could get a new phone for a cheaper price.
I have been playing around with this phone for the whole day: downloading apps, reading reviews and deleting apps that didn't work for me, and I am in absolute heaven. The mobile has come alive for me at last.
This website made my Android experience better because I was having quite a difficult time trying all the applications that I found interesting. (Also, I was worried that I might run out of space on my SD card) This website filtered out the rubbish - which is excellent and rad and all things good!
Why the HTC Desire?
1). I didn't want to have a phone that every other person already had 2 years ago.
2). The recent news about Apple products (Foxconn ill-treating their factory employees, no support for flash on iPhone forever) was making me unhappy about the Apple brand name.
3). The specifications of HTC Desire is much better than the iPhone.
4). Of course, good reviews about the phone on the internet.
I went and gmasked it today. Though the designs at gmask was not too good - I felt that most of them were boring/gangster-ish or a bad combination of both - I settled for a white one which was at odds with the dark brown casing. I felt that I would rather have a design that I liked as compared to something not as nice that blended in with the dark brown casing.
Well, as my old phone doesn't take pictures anymore (since there is no SIM inside, and I'm too lazy to change out my SIM card again), I have taken a picture of the skin I've chosen via the use of a mirror.

I rather choose an ugly but very functional phone over a pretty but useless phone. It's possible to prettify an ugly phone but not possible to make a stupid phone smarter without taking the whole phone apart.
